What changes with Go 2?
Go 2 is a separate product from the UK Zaptec Go. Its distinguishing features include MID-certified metering, an energy display and hardware intended for more advanced energy management. The UK manufacturer page lists both single- and three-phase output.
MID metering can be relevant where measured consumption matters, but you should still check the reporting and reimbursement requirements of the organisation involved. A certified meter does not automatically enrol the charger in a billing service.
V2G-ready is not a complete V2G installation
Zaptec describes Go 2 as bidirectional-ready. Do not read that as a guarantee that your present car can immediately power your home or export energy. Hardware capability, supported vehicles, software availability and the approved installation or service arrangement all need to line up.
If bidirectional use is the reason for buying, obtain written confirmation for your exact vehicle and proposed setup. Our supplier prices cover the charger, not a commissioned vehicle-to-home or vehicle-to-grid system.
Power and solar planning
A 22 kW AC rating needs a suitable three-phase supply and vehicle. On single phase, the quoted maximum is 7.4 kW. Charging may be limited further by the circuit, available capacity or the car.
The manufacturer promotes solar integration and phase-switching capability. Ask the installer which monitoring equipment, configuration and current software are needed for the intended solar behaviour. A solar-ready label alone is not an equipment schedule.
Socket, display and installation
The Type 2 socket gives flexibility to choose and remove a vehicle lead; permanent cable locking is also supported. Allow space for the plug and cable, and keep the display visible at the proposed mounting point.
Do not assume that the original UK Go’s integrated PEN-fault arrangement carries over to Go 2. The Go 2 specification requires external circuit protection. Have a qualified installer assess the earthing and protection for the exact unit and supply.
Manufacturer identifiers and prices
The UK shop’s order code is 900-00120; the declaration also uses hardware product number 810-00033. These identifiers have different roles, so our price comparison uses the retail order code consistently.
Both displayed supplier prices are for the black bare charger, including VAT. Delivery, installation, the vehicle lead and optional monitoring are separate. Prices can change; check the seller’s total before ordering.
Warranty and documents
Zaptec advertises a five-year guarantee. Keep the purchase and installation records, and use the model-specific user manual at handover.
Compare the Zaptec range and Easee Charge Max. This is researched manufacturer information, not a hands-on verdict.
Manufacturer documents and sources
Specifications apply to the UK models identified above. Follow the instructions for the exact unit supplied; a product summary is not an installation manual.
