Which Pulsar Max version is this?

Pulsar Max is the domestic AC charger listed in Wallbox’s UK home range. This page covers the tethered and shuttered-socket versions together. Cable lengths are options within the Pulsar Max family. Quasar 2 is a DC product and is outside this AC comparison.

The compact tethered unit and taller socket unit have different dimensions. Check the version before planning its position beside a driveway or garage. A socket version needs a separate compatible charging lead; the fixed-lead version is offered with 5m and 7m cables. The illustration represents the socket version, not both enclosures.

The black socket order code PLP4-W-2-2-F-002 is provisional: it appears in a UK supplier listing but has not been confirmed in full by the manufacturer. Confirm the complete code and supplied configuration before ordering. Older PLP2 stock should not be treated as interchangeable with PLP4 when comparing offers.

Price and availability

A current supply-only price for this exact configuration was not available for this comparison on 22 September 2026. Ask the supplier for a quotation confirming the full order code, VAT, delivery and whether installation is included.

Ask for the complete manufacturer code, hardware revision and included accessories in writing. A quote should distinguish the charger, installation, vehicle lead for a socket model, and any energy-management meter. A lower headline price for an older revision is not automatically the same purchase.

Power, solar and everyday controls

The manufacturer sheet lists 7.4kW single-phase and 11/22kW three-phase versions. The house supply and the car’s AC charging limit determine the usable rate. A 22kW unit does not turn a single-phase house into a 22kW charging installation.

Wallbox provides app and portal controls with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Dynamic load management and solar charging require an external meter; do not assume those features are complete simply because the charger appears in a solar-compatible list. Have the installer confirm the required meter and supported configuration before ordering. The listed MID option is also external, not a built-in billing display.

Warranty and the older-unit safety programme

Wallbox’s UK product page ties warranty duration to the purchase date. Keep the invoice and check the applicable terms rather than assuming a current five-year headline retrospectively extends an older purchase.

The OPSS report describes a manufacturing defect at internal output-terminal connections in certain older units. Wallbox’s response includes a software update and a programme of inspection, repair or replacement where needed. Contact Wallbox with the product identifiers to establish whether the unit is affected; this specification page cannot clear an individual charger as safe.

Compare the Wallbox brand, Easee One and Zaptec Go for other socketed options. These are document-based specifications, not results from a hands-on test.

Specifications apply to the UK models identified above. Follow the instructions for the exact unit supplied; a product summary is not an installation manual.
