Manufacturer part numbers

Match the full manufacturer part number (MPN), including its suffix, when comparing prices. A retailer's own stock code can be different. Confirm connectivity and hardware revision for the unit supplied.

Solo 3S in the Pod range

Pod is the current brand name; Pod Point remains on hardware and in many retailer listings. This page covers the current Solo 3S Home family, not the older Solo 3 or the commercial Solo Pro. The official document library keeps separate resources for those products, so similar names should not be treated as equivalent specifications.

Cable length: check the actual stock

The current Home data sheet specifies a 6.5 m tethered cable. Older retailer descriptions still show 5 m under the same S7-2C-05 model code. Before buying a tethered unit, get the supplied cable length confirmed in writing; do not assume that every listing has been updated.

The price comparison covers the standard untethered S7-UC-05. A removable cable lets you choose a suitable length, but it is a separate item in the equipment budget. The UCC cellular model is also a distinct ordering variant, not a feature included in every socketed unit.

Using Pod Home

The current user guide points home owners to Pod Home. Its functions include schedules, remote locking, charging activity and solar mode. The public-charging driver app is not the same home-management workflow.

At handover, check that the charger appears in your own account and that you can understand its light states. If you choose charger-managed scheduling, remove conflicting vehicle timers. A car waiting for its own timer can otherwise look like a charger that has failed to start.

Supply, installation and solar planning

The rating describes the maximum available from suitable hardware and supply conditions, not a guaranteed charging speed for every car. Ask the installer to confirm your car’s AC capability, the circuit capacity, the cable route and the monitoring required for the intended setup.

For solar use, discuss generation and normal daytime parking together. A solar function cannot deliver energy that the panels are not producing or that the household is already using. Leave enough planned grid-charging time when reaching a particular departure level matters.

What the displayed prices cover

The comparison is charger-only and uses an exact socketed model code. A separately purchased vehicle cable, delivery and installation can alter the total. An installed package cannot be compared directly with a bare-unit listing, and a price checked today is not a binding future quote.

Warranty and verification

The manufacturer specifies a three-year limited warranty with installation conditions. Keep the serial number, invoice and commissioning documents. If comparing an enhanced installer warranty with the standard product warranty, ask who provides each part and which exclusions apply.

Return to Pod’s brand page or compare the charger directory. This page is based on documentation, not personal installation or hands-on testing.
