Charger brand

Podformerly Pod Point

One of the UK's longest-running charger brands - simple 'fit and forget' hardware backed by a large existing installer base, now trading as Pod rather than Pod Point.

Company update: Pod Point rebranded as Pod in 2026. The Pod Point website now redirects to podenergy.com, where the company describes the change as 'From Pod Point to Pod.'

Pod has one of the longest track records in UK home charging - trading since 2009, long before “smart charger” was a category most buyers thought about. Its pitch has stayed consistent even through the recent name change: straightforward, reliable hardware with a large installer network behind it, rather than the tariff-integration or design-led angle some newer brands lead with.

This is a brand overview sourced from Pod’s own site, not a hands-on assessment of the company - see our editorial standards for what “checked” means on a page like this.

The current home model covered here is Solo 3S, in tethered and socketed versions. The current manufacturer sheet specifies a 6.5m fixed lead, while older retail stock may still say 5m. Check the supplied cable and warranty package rather than assuming every Solo-labelled offer is identical. Pod’s current home-charging range.
