Which APEX-S is this?

The manufacturer’s current APEX-S sheet distinguishes eight codes: 7S is single-phase up to 7.3 kW and 22S is three-phase up to 22 kW; each has a socketed or -T tethered form. The -4G suffix adds cellular connectivity. The supplier table below compares only the socketed APEX-7S. Check the supplied code before ordering. Current manufacturer sheet.

The illustration depicts the socketed APEX-7S. It needs a separate Type 2 vehicle cable. The 22 kW version needs a suitable three-phase supply and vehicle AC charging capability; the home’s circuit and vehicle can reduce either quoted maximum.

Solar, load control and protection

Project EV lists solar charging and dynamic load management, but the current sheet says a CT clamp is included only with APEX-7S. Confirm the parts and setup supplied with another code before relying on those modes. The same sheet lists internal 6 mA DC fault detection and PEN fault protection. An earlier sheet described an integral RCBO; the newer V2.1 sheet does not make that blanket claim. Ask the qualified installer to specify the required upstream protection for the exact supplied unit. APEX-S data sheet.

App and tariffs

The APEX app can schedule sessions around off-peak hours. The manufacturer sheet does not establish direct control by a named energy supplier tariff, so check a specific tariff’s charger eligibility before relying on it. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are listed; only -4G codes include cellular hardware. Wired LAN availability depends on supplied stock according to the sheet. APEX-S data sheet.

Prices and documents

The supplier table compares only new APEX-7S socketed units in EV Steel, with VAT included. Prices exclude a vehicle cable, delivery and installation; they can change. Other variants have different hardware and should not be treated as price matches. Use the current data sheet and user manual at handover. Return to the Project EV range.
