Model and cable variants
Home 3 Pro is the charger offered on Hypervolt’s current UK product page. Its fixed lead comes in several lengths and finishes; these are choices within the same model family. The part-number table identifies the nine Type 2 combinations in Hypervolt’s trade catalogue. The featured price comparison is specifically for the black 5 m unit. Official UK product.
The manufacturer also documents Type 1 leads, but those order codes have not been established here. Confirm the connector and full part number before ordering for a Type 1 vehicle. Manufacturer specification.
Connectivity and everyday operation
A reliable home network matters for remote control. Wired Ethernet is available as an alternative to Wi-Fi and must be connected by the installer inside the unit. Installation guide.
Hypervolt cannot read the vehicle’s battery percentage directly. If you want charging to stop at a particular percentage, use the vehicle’s own supported limit. Firmware updates arrive automatically while the charger is online. Customer FAQs.
An internet outage does not immediately erase existing settings: the charger retains its current schedule, mode and lock state. However, Hypervolt says a restart while offline resets it to unlocked Plug and Charge in Boost mode. App changes cannot reach an offline charger. This distinction matters if you depend on a schedule or access lock. Offline behaviour.
Tariffs and charging controls
Intelligent Octopus Go connects through the Hypervolt account in the Octopus app. Confirm current account and equipment eligibility with Octopus; no electricity rate is guaranteed here. Octopus connection guide.
During Octopus-controlled windows, Hypervolt uses Boost and the manual solar modes are unavailable. Outside those windows, the selected battery configuration determines the fallback solar mode. Already downloaded schedules can continue offline, but new schedules require reconnection. Immediate Bump Charge is separate from scheduled smart charging and can attract the standard tariff rate. Hypervolt tariff guidance.
Ordinary timed charging and direct supplier control are different arrangements. Choose the appropriate scheduling owner and avoid imposing conflicting vehicle and charger schedules. Octopus charger support.
Solar charging and home load
Boost uses the power available to charge promptly. Eco can supplement self-generated energy to maintain charging, while Super-Eco waits for sufficient surplus, approximately 1.4 kW. Solar output and household demand can therefore cause a session to pause. Battery-Safe adds protection against unintended storage discharge and uses a higher starting threshold of approximately 1.9 kW. Battery behaviour depends on configuration; a solar mode alone is not a blanket promise that storage will never discharge. Charging modes.
The primary CT measures household demand and export. Correct commissioning lets automatic load management reduce charging demand when the property’s configured limit is approached. It does not increase the incoming supply capacity. Manufacturer installation guide.
Installation and documentation
The integrated protective functions do not remove the need for an installer-designed circuit. External AC residual-current and overcurrent protection are required, and the finished installation must preserve the enclosure rating. Manufacturer installation guide.
The specifications are based on manufacturer documentation. We have not tested the charger hands-on.
