Model and order code
The eDock2 EVC8001 is Deta.e’s residential 7.4 kW socketed charger. A separate Type 2 cable is required. Deta.e also lists EVC8006, which adds 4G for communal use; this page’s connection and supplier prices apply to EVC8001 only. The older eDock and eVolo names should not be treated as interchangeable hardware. Deta.e residential product; domestic range.
Connectivity and charging controls
The ElecQ app provides charging schedules and energy information; two RFID cards provide local access. Deta.e lists Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth and RS485 for EVC8001, with OCPP support for compatible management platforms. The separate 4G code does not make cellular connectivity standard on this unit. Deta.e product details.
The manufacturer lists tariff settings and scheduled charging, but the cited material does not establish direct control by a named energy supplier. Check your tariff’s charger eligibility separately. Deta.e product details.
Solar, load and installation
Deta.e describes solar and battery compatibility and supplies a CT for dynamic load management. Whether solar surplus is usable depends on the installed metering and configuration; the cited product page does not specify a universal solar-only behaviour or home-battery priority. The charger also incorporates residual-current and open-PEN protection. A competent installer must assess the supply and required upstream circuit protection. Deta.e product details; installation manual.
The manufacturer data sheet specifies IP65 without a plug inserted and IP55 with a plug inserted. A short feature list on Deta.e’s product page reverses those conditions. Confirm the applicable rating with Deta.e for the installed configuration. Data sheet; product page.
The manual requires commissioning with the ElecQ Partner app for warranty validity. Deta.e’s warranty terms state two years of parts cover, extendable by one year upon qualifying registration. The exact period and conditions should be checked for the supplied unit; retailer claims of an unconditional three-year guarantee do not replace the manufacturer’s terms.
