Charger brand
Tesla
Home charging linked to the Tesla app, with support for Tesla cars and other electric vehicles with a Type 2 charging port.
Tesla offers home charging alongside its electric vehicles. Its UK home-charging service covers equipment, an installer directory and owner support. The fixed home-charging equipment is compatible with Type 2 vehicles from other manufacturers as well as Tesla cars; charging speed depends on the vehicle and the property’s electrical supply.
Wi-Fi connectivity enables software updates and remote diagnostics. Owners can use the Tesla app to manage charging and view charging statistics, including when charging a non-Tesla vehicle. Installation can be arranged through a Tesla Certified Installer or the customer’s own electrician. Tesla publishes separate regional installation documents, so UK owners should use the European and UK resources.
This overview is based on manufacturer information, not hands-on testing. See our editorial standards for how we check charger information.
